Department of Physics came into existence in the year 1968. Since then the department has made commendable progress in teaching. There has been a constant endeavor to provide quality education to B.Sc UG students. Department of Physics is fully equipped with two Laboratories, Computational research Lab and a Dark room.  With the RUSA funding, Physics Laboratories are fully equipped with state of the art instruments to cater the needs of undergraduate students.

The computational research laboratory is outfitted with workstations and computers running Linux and the most latest WIEN2k DFT simulation software package. Undergraduate research projects are open to B.Sc students.Classrooms are equipped with latest interactive panels, podiums, Smart-boards and Projectors. Department has been providing special classes for the preparation of PG entrance exams like IIT-JAM, TIFR, GATE etc to prepare student for the competitive exams. There is a healthy interaction between faculty and students and conscious efforts are made to nurture and groom the students.
