Red Ribbon Club

The Red Ribbon Club at Government P G College Una has been tirelessly working towards creating awareness and fostering a sense of responsibility among the students and the community at large. Our mission is to educate, engage, and empower individuals to combat AIDS and promote overall health and well-being.

Activities of Red Ribbon Club

• AIDS Awareness Programme: – Our club organized informative sessions and workshops on AIDS awareness, addressing its causes, prevention, and dispelling myths associated with the disease. These sessions aimed to reduce stigma and increase knowledge.
• Videography Competition:- We encouraged students to showcase their creativity and advocacy skills through a videography competition. Participants created videos that communicated the importance of safe practices and AIDS awareness.
• Extempore Speech:- To enhance public speaking skills and awareness, we organized extempore speech competitions on topics related to HIV/AIDS. This not only boosted communication abilities but also spread important messages.
• Poster Making Competition:- Through artistic expression, our members engaged in a poster-making competition centered around AIDS awareness. These visually striking posters served as powerful tools to convey messages about prevention and support.
• District Level Quiz Competition: –We hosted a district-level quiz competition on HIV/AIDS to test knowledge and promote healthy competition among students. This event saw enthusiastic participation from various educational institutions.
• World AIDS Day: – Each year, we observed World AIDS Day by organizing awareness campaigns, candlelight vigils, and discussions. This global event allowed us to join the international effort to combat AIDS.
• Women’s Day Celebration:- Recognizing the importance of gender equity in health, we celebrated Women’s Day with events focusing on women’s health issues, including HIV/AIDS. These activities emphasized the unique challenges women face in the context of HIV.

Impact:-
The Red Ribbon Club’s efforts have yielded significant results, including increased awareness, reduced stigma, and a more informed student body. We have striven to create a supportive environment for those affected by AIDS and to educate the next generation on the importance of responsible behavior and compassion.
